U.S. Navy Aircraft Found Shipwrecked Boaters Photo on Desert Island

The guys had been missing for 3 days after a wave knocked over their skiff in Micronesia. They were rescued after being spotted by the plane. In the last two weeks, 15 people have been rescued in the Pacific with the help of 10 AMVER vessels and six aircrews, the U.S. Coast Guard said.Copyright 2016 The Associated Press. As well, linking to said article doesn't violate any kind of copyright. If OP were to copy/paste the whole article into a text post, even with citation, that would be redistribution and would violate their copyright.I was on the aviation side of the Coast Guard, and loved flying around the Hawaiian Islands. It was very beautiful, and feel very lucky to have seen all the beautiful views from the cockpit of the C-130.All in all, the good outweighs the bad. I was stationed there '97-'04 and I still feel a connection to the islands to this day.
I'm really sorry for your loss and I know this is terribly, terribly inappropriate, but my dad is unwell and it makes me nostalgic. He jokingly always had the same saying for all of us kids. We would leave for college, and he would tell us to remember the coast guards - we had to leave, but we didn't need to come back home. He's 0 for 4!We love you guys and gals out here on the islands! I always see the helicopters circling around the middle of the island when I'm hiking. Feels comforting knowing that if I fall down a cliff (and manage to not die) but break my legs, you guys know the island like the back of your hand.Glad to hear that. They, the Coasties stationed out there, are a big part of life in Hawaii. They play and live alongside the locals. They are invested in the community and Hawaiian culture.

Edit: I knew deserts are based off of rainfall, but TIL desert island means an undiscovered island. However I do contend that those fellows from the wreck discovered it, and lived on it, so it is no longer a desert island. The term "desert island" uses the adjective form of "desert" in the sense "uninhabited and desolate." It is correct to use for uninhabited tropical islands. What a nightmare concept, in the process of laying out the last few stones, the plane goes by and dismisses your soon to be, but currently incomplete message.
